Having caught the attention of scientists from various fields, LiquidFeedback's integrated deliberation and decision-making process have morphed into an international benchmark for democratic self-organization using the internet. The project has continuously shared ideas and results with the scientific world as well as practitioners in the field.
Research and academic cooperation are conducted by the Association for Interactive Democracy, an independent research institution that collaborates with scientists from various disciplines, including computer scientists, mathematicians, philosophers, political scientists, and sociologists.
